Νωρίς το πρωί της Δευτέρας ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τα 81α Βραβεία Χρυσών Σφαιρών.
Ο Cedric “The Entertainer” και ο Wilmer Valderrama ανακοίνωσαν τις υποψηφιότητες για τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες 2024 μέσω ενός livestream του CBS, που μπορούσαν να παρακολουθήσουν όλοι και από το YouTube.
Η πρώτη μεγάλη τελετή απονομής βραβείων της σεζόν, η οποία χρησιμεύει ως προάγγελος τόσο για τα Όσκαρ όσο και για τα Emmy, θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 7 Ιανουαρίου του 2024 και σύμφωνα με δημοσιεύματα επιδιώκει να επανεφεύρει τον εαυτό της και να αποκαταστήσει τη φήμη της, καθώς η Ένωση των δημοσιογράφων που βρίσκεται πίσω από τα βραβεία ταρακουνήθηκε από μια σειρά σκανδάλων, συμπεριλαμβανομένου ενός ρεπορτάζ των Los Angeles Times που αποκάλυψε ότι από τα 87 μέλη της ομάδας όλα ήταν λευκοί.
Αξίζει να σημειώσουμε ότι δύο νέα βραβεία θα παρουσιαστούν στην επερχόμενη τελετή, καθώς οι διοργανωτές επεκτείνουν τις βραβεύσεις με δύο νέες κατηγορίες, οι οποίες ανταποκρίνονται στην τωρινή πραγματικότητα της βιομηχανίας και του Χόλιγουντ. Η μία κατηγορία θα χρίσει την “Καλύτερη Blockbuster Ταινία” (Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award) της χρονιάς και η άλλη κατηγορία θα ονομάζεται “Καλύτερη Ερμηνεία σε Τηλεοπτικό stand-up σόου” και θα αναδεικνύει πρακτικά τον καλύτερο stand-up κωμικό της χρονιάς.
