Μετά από αρκετές καθυστερήσεις, το “Top Gun: Maverick” έκανε την πρώτη του παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα στο πάνελ του CinemaCon την Πέμπτη 28 Απριλίου, και όσοι ήταν οι τυχεροί που μπόρεσαν να το παρακολουθήσουν, δήλωσαν πως ήταν ότι περίμεναν και ακόμα περισσότερα.
Το “Top Gun: Maverick”, η παραγωγή του οποίου ξεπέρασε τα 150 εκατ. δολάρια, έρχεται 36 χρόνια μετά την πρώτη ταινία που το 1986 εκτόξευσε την καριέρα του Τομ Κρουζ. Με περισσότερα από τριάντα χρόνια υπηρεσίας ως ένας από τους καλύτερους πιλότους της αεροπορίας, ο Πιτ “Μάβερικ” Μίτσελ αναγκάζεται να διοικήσει μια νέα κατηγορία επίδοξων πιλότων, μια ευθύνη που προσπάθησε να αποφύγει σε όλη τη σταδιοδρομία του στο Ναυτικό. Ανάμεσά τους βρίσκεται και ο γιος του αγαπημένου του φίλου Υποσμηναγού Νικ “Γκους” Μπράντσο, ο οποίος είχε φύγει από τη ζωή κατά τη διάρκεια μιας πτήσης. Aπώλεια οδυνηρή που παραλίγο να οδηγήσει τον Μάβερικ στο να εγκαταλείψει την αεροπορία. Η συνάντηση αυτή ξυπνά άσχημες μνήμες από το παρελθόν αλλά και φοβίες που ο πρωταγωνιστής είχε είχε θάψει βαθιά μέσα του εδώ και δεκαετίες.
Το να βλέπουμε τον Κρουζ να μπαίνει ξανά μέσα σε ένα αεροπλάνο είναι αναμφίβολα μια συναισθηματική στιγμή, ειδικά αφού το “Top Gun: Maverick” υπόσχεται να δώσει τη σκυτάλη σε μια νέα γενιά.
Τη σκηνοθεσία του σίκουελ υπογράφει ο Τζόζεφ Κοζίνσκι και το σενάριο οι Έχρεν Κρούγκερ, Έρικ Σίνγκερ, Κρίστοφερ Μαγκουάιρ. Εκτός από τον Τομ Κρουζ, πρωταγωνιστεί ο Μάιλς Τέλερ ως γιος του Νικ Μπράντσο, η Τζένιφερ Κόνελι, η οποία υποδύεται μια ιδιοκτήτρια μπαρ και ελεύθερη μητέρα που θα κεντρίσει το ενδιαφέρον του Μάβερικ, ενώ επιστρέφει και ο Βαλ Κίλμερ ως Iceman.
Μετά την πρεμιέρα στο CinemaCon, το “Top Gun: Maverick” πρόκειται να προβληθεί τον επόμενο μήνα στο Φεστιβάλ των Καννών. Ωστόσο, οι θαυμαστές θα μπορούν να παρακολουθήσουν τo σίκουελ όταν βγει στους κινηματογράφους στις 27 Μαΐου.
